I approach Shiatsu as I do many things: as a movement art. I was originally drawn to bodywork from my own experiences as a recipient, and for the simple fact that bodywork can be both restorative, and also potentially transformative.
I recently compleated a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, in Berkeley California and I am currently Licensed to practice acupunture and Chinese medicine in California.
I received my training in Shiatsu at Oregon School of Massage, in Portland, Oregon. I went on to teach Shiatsu as member of OSM’s Shiatsu program for a number of years, sharing the art of Shiatsu with many students.
My Shiatsu education was multifaceted, and it is of course ongoing. In addition to the 750 hours of classroom education, I have worked closely with master practitioner Jim Cleaver for many years, studying Shiatsu, Tai Ji, Chinese medical classics and philosophy.
I hold a diplomate in Asian Bodywork Therapy,
(Dipl. ABT) which is a degree conferred by the NCCAOM. The degree reflects in-depth study of theory and practice related to Asian Bodywork Therapy methods.
Additional certificates include:
• Nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork
(NCTNB)
• ABMP Certified Massage Therapist
Licensure includes:
State of California Acupuncture License
